Synopsis:
Shrews’ is located in the Spain of the fifties. Montse (Macarena Gómez) is no longer young, she has lost her youth taking care of her little sister, locked up in a sinister apartment in the center of Madrid. Her mother died in the childbirth of the little one (Nadia de Santiago), and the father (Luis Tosar) could not stand it. He cowardly fled, leaving them alone. Forced to be a father, mother and older sister, Montse hides from life, within four walls, feeding an obsessive and unbalanced temperament: she suffers from agoraphobia, and cannot take a step outside the house. She does not understand what is happening to her, and the suffering that this strange illness generates forces her to take refuge in a world of Our Fathers and Hail Marys.
Montse works as a seamstress and the only link that unites her with reality is the girl, a girl who is no longer a seamstress. One day, that chain is broken: Carlos (Hugo Silva) a young and irresponsible neighbor, has the misfortune to fall down the stairs, looking for help at the only door he has been able to crawl to. Montse picks him up. Someone has entered the shrew’s den… He may never come out again.
